Following the 1997 Supreme Court Judgmentin the case of Vishakha and others and as per the directives of UGC and HemchandYadav Vishwavidyala, Durg (Chhattisgarh), the Women Cell has been constitutedin our college to uphold the dignity of women at work place bydeveloping a conducive atmosphere on the campus, where the status of woman isrespected and they are treated with .Pursuant of theDirectives of “The Sexual Harassment of women at workplace(Prevention,Prohibition and Redressed) Act 2013, notified by the Ministry of Law andJustice which has come into effect from 23rd April 2013, the InternalComplaints Cell has also been established.
Mission -
· Toprovide a respected identity to women and to help maintain a harmonious atmosphereat the Institute to enable women to pursue their work with dignity andreassurance.
Objectives–
· To createawareness amongst students about the problems faced by women of all strata dueto gender issues.
· To createan environment of gender justice where men and women work together with a senseof personal security and dignity.
· To createawareness amongst students about the issues related to youth, girls in particular.
· To disseminateknowledge about rights and laws related to women.
· To createa sense of responsibility in the students and have healthy study and workculture in college.
· To enhancethe self-esteem and self-confidence of girl students, women faculty and theemployees.
· To developcritical thinking ability of students.
WomenCell – The women cell of college has been dealing withproblems of girl students and women employees of college and has also beenorganizing awareness activities and workshops/ lectures for women’s welfare.
